How Can We Successfully Love From A Distance?

Mother called me today , blood boiling in wrath and misery over what she described as her own Mother’s provocativeness for the 465th time. In the Royal Jamaican dialect of Patois, that meant “ Shi too provoking”.

But why did mom see her own mother as provoking – I questioned myself.? Why did a quarrel over the realization that her medication had finished during the daunting hours of a Pandemic induced lockdown , while the coaster buses coasted and the conductors conducted the Business doors closed- then people were mostly wheeling and bustling, through the ticket-giving traffic while the windshield wipers- wiped till just 2 hours left until the inmates were housed into the Easter Lock Down?

Why didn’t my fever struck mom arrange for my diabetic grandmother to get her medication?

Who should I have sided with? Overworked mom or Helicopter grandmom?

Why did Overworked mom choose to tell neglectful grandmom that she could leave if she really wants her to so she should choose her words wisely? Why did helicopter mom choose to reveal to remorseful grandmom today that she actually owns her own home? Why was this a secret?

Why do relatives keep secrets?

….

Why do our shoulders rub closest to ones who don’t know us?How do we give a helping pair of hands to those we Love to dislike the most?

Please.

Tell Me How?
