Synchronicity

I like to compare events and I especially love to think that nothing is a coincidence.

I remember traveling to Georgia for the 1st time in 2016.

A family friend received a book from work titled ‘the 5 dysfunctions’ of a team.

Anyone who knows me knows that I love a brand new book.

The excitement of another world peaking at me from closed pages was the highlight of my travel.

Another land and its possibilities , a new closed book, that smelt like realms of A4 sized white paper , not fully white or off-white and hard covered with wrappings in red.

I didn’t want to open it since either would lose its appeal and I picked it up, I placed it on the ground and I placed it right back on a dusty mini book shelf.

For days, I held in it tightly into my hands and even fell asleep beside it.

This book was my new best friend.

I begged my family friend to gift it to me but he resisted, citing that he cannot regift a gift.

There’s no joy in the journey if I have to purchase it so I never bought the book for myself.

There was no climax there.

Instead, my mother bought it some 5 years later.

Looking back, I forgot (or I remember now) that just 2 weeks later, I reluctantly joined my first course in my Masters of Science program . The name of the course was ‘ Group Dynamics’

I remember thinking to myself, Now why on Earth would anyone want to study people , working in groups?
