As Kate approached a house with a Pink Wall , a stranger stopped Kate one night and handed her a cell phone .
Kate pondered whether she should touch the phone.
The stranger didn’t say a thing. Kate looked at the cell phone screen and read Anne, Abbe, Al..
“No”, the stranger said and smiled.
Kate was slightly embarrassed.
She was certain this is what was being asked for her.
Suddenly, the add contacts feature of the phone appeared.
Kate inserted her number quickly. It was the polite thing to do to a polite neighbor .
Kate now remembered having met the eyes of this stranger who happened to be a neighbor for 8 yrs- a couple times.
Kate entered her number and they parted ways.
She waited patiently for this stranger to text her but nothing came in.
Kate fell asleep.
7.a.m.
She awoke to a pin on her phone.
For some strange reason, I feel a strong connection towards you.
This electrified Kate’s boredom and dregs of dating that was usually the highlight of her life.
Kate had asked her sometime-partner of a year and a half for a break and the partner obliged without any hesitation. Talk about feeling unwanted.
A week earlier, Kate wondered if out of desperation, it wouldn’t hurt to give in to her old mate’s bothersome asks for intimacy.
This alcohol induced rebounding sex would take a toll on her body the next day so Kate thought against it.
This person was one with whom she often had regrettable rebounds with.
Exceptional friend, not the relationship type.
Kate was no angel, though to many, she appeared to be.
Whenever Kate felt rejected, she would resort to sex with an ex or her rebounding buddy ( no pun intended).
Kate often felt sexually unwanted and unsatisfied in her last ship and felt the need to avenge herself of the rejection of her then , very mood and sometimish partner.
She was sure her sometimish partner was doing the same.
Kate glanced back at the text that came in at 7 that morning, bit her lips and wondered whether she was horny or was it that this person was hitting on her.
Kate : really, I wonder why? Aren’t you married?
Stranger : *rolls eyes * , of course I’m not. I may be saving myself for someone.
Stranger: I may be saving myself for you.
Kate alighted from the bed.
Her routine was a 20minute morning walk with her dog, shower, coffee and then remote meetings at 8:15
