Observing Nature, Being Mindful – August 1, 2021

The cleaning lady is giving me lot of laughs

I can smell the strong scent of Ajax bleach on the tiles and on the walls of this fertility clinic.

She has been doing this for 40 years. She is 70 years old. The unit is preceding too many complaints when the younger lady cleans.

Ms. Cherry is a veteran. She has no illnesses. Her knees move with utmost elasticity.

There are no ‘oohs and ‘ahhh’ when she flexes her joints to get to the tightest dirtycorners.

It is empty. It is being prepared for the next working day.

The road is busy. Curfew begins at 3.p.m.

Most people are disgruntled about this national impediment of movement. Today is National Independence Day. Some 57 years ago, Jamaica received independent from England.

Poor Jamaica.

This is our only time to bond. All other events have been cancelled.

I am considering to take one of the plants from the compound to plant into my garden.

I am strongly afraid of the karma of stealing.

I can afford to buy plants.

Embarrassment looms over my head.

I am still contemplating it.

There are no laws to prohibit this.

I am scared.

I have decided not to steal the plant.

God please forgive me for my thoughts
