Not In The Mood To Do Anything? Then Don’t. Here’s Why.

Whenever I’m not sure what to do, or what next to learn, I try not to work on or think about an end result, a product or any achievement. When I’m not sure what to write , or what course to do, I depend on building the discipline of putting in the work.

Discipline Will Do The Work For You.

This means that I still show up to write, I still show up to read or watch a video of something to learn, but only for 2 minutes.

The aim here is to work the discipline muscle. I believe that this muscle needs engagement and I believe it is mostly engaged when we do things that we don’t want to do.

Saying all this to say, whenever you don’t feel like studying, study for 2 minutes, if you don’t feel like working out, do 1 squat only, if you don’t feel like writing, write 2 lines about it-about not wanting to write. if you don’t feel like selling or calling a potential client, send an email, send a text, ask someone to do it for you, outsource the work, but get it done , nonetheless.

I believe that in every rut, lies the opportunity to develop a good habit.
