Perceptions are a hell of a thing.

Be kind to everyone because you never know what battle someone is facing.

What triggers you is your ah-ha moment of what needs are-work. What triggers you controls you.
Be aware of your triggers to spend . By spend, I not only mean money, but time, energy and other resources .
Make sure wherever you spend the most resource is in alignment with your long term goals.
If you recognise you are overspending resources after your impending guilt trip, decide to amend your resources for spending only on what is attached to your goals.
