Debt Will Haunt You pt.6

On Triggers

I’m realizing that most of our habits that we don’t want but still do is triggered by something.

But triggered by what trigger? Who or what is behind that trigger?

A feeling? A thought? A pervasive emotion from childhood that we keep dodging?

What positions our mind to want to escape a daunting memory of an event? A usually painful event?.

What was it that was so painful that whenever I’m reminded about it , by a smell, a sound, a taste or touch that begs us to block the pain of it,?

Whenever I smell Cornmeal, I’m reminded of being forced to drink it at nursery. As so unusually get tense at the whif of the scent of cornmeal.

So I grew up hating Cornmeal , a staple which is mostly used to make porridge where I live.

But now, as an adult, I’m able to reinforce to myself, the importance of consuming this good source of fiber and protein and having being a newly converted pescatarian, this is a quick and easy meal to fill me up before I get too consumed with the busyness of working from home.

But still, My triggers. Why do I dodge my triggers?
