This is embarrassing.
My grandma and adult cousin was frantically assisting me to find my car keys for about 30 minutes. I looked inside my purse, on my desk, under the couch, in my dog’s crate, in the kitchen.
This key did not want to be found.
Thankfully, I once again looked into the bathroom and there it was, I could feel it piercing through the soles of my sandals. I happily lift my left foot up and grabbed it with relief .
Earlier, it fell out of my pocket while undressing to enter into the shower.
Then the worst thing happened.
While walking to the car with my newly found keys, I realised I left my purse.
My purse was no where to be found. Even while writing this, I still have not found my purse.
I was fretting because it was now 6:05.p.m. and I had agreed to pick up my mom from work and now it appeared I was going to have to leave home without my license.
Even though my mother is deemed an essential worker ( or a first responder , as Americans would put it) and can work beyond curfew hours, if the police were to stop us, she would be in the clear having had proper identification.
Me, on the other hand, hand no form of identification on me and this could warrant an arrest and the seizure of my vehicle.
Not to mention that a series of arrests were being made for persons breaching a certain ACT after curfew hours and not having proper identification.
What a catastrophe.
I’ve read countless articles about the causes of forgetfulness and it stemming from either stress and anxiety or symptoms of certain medications- all of which could be possibilities in my case.
Now I’m still searching for the purse. This is a constant thing for me and I’m known for ‘losing’ my things. At 32 , this is embarrassing.
Has this ever happened to you?
