Your Brain is constantly fooling you.
According to the Scientific American Blog, a piece written by Sarah Graham in 2004, our Brain produces more hunger hormones when we are sleep deprived and less full-stomach hormones when in fact, we are simply lacking sleep.
Perhaps this mix up of brain signals will explain my current weight gain and constant need for food just 1 hour after eating a full plate of Peppered Fried Shrimp, Sweet Corn and mashed potatoes.
Not to mention the instant headache at the center or my forehead, right between my 2 eyes as soon as I get up each morning.
Every night it’s a continuous cycle of me using my cell phone in bed, until around 1.a.m.the following day.
My 10 month old Shitzu mixed puppy – Zeus, wakes me at around 5:50.a.m with continuous barking at the sounds of taxi and mini bus horns.
I’ll spend maybe a good 30 minutes trying to get him to shhhhh :(.
I lie down until around 8:15.a.m. When work starts.
At each painfully forceful break from my make-shift work from home station, I’m guilt-ridden with the dilemma of having to choose between eating and resting my tired eyes. Sometimes, I end up choosing to stare at my phone screen.
By 5.p.m. when work is finished, I’ll gladly do pick ups and some chauffeur work, by driving to another parish, pick up my mom, just to escape the physical dregs of my work from home station.
Then by 8.p.m. I’m now home to a mandatory islandwide curfew of said time.
I force myself to eat at at around 9.p.m. and glance at my phone screen, perhaps every 2 minutes until around 11.p.m.
Then I…its now 12:53.a.m. and I have a headache. This is either a 2nd day Covd vaccine symptom or a lack of sleep or both.
Do you lack sleep? How can I stop this cycle from getting my brain to send me the right Ghrelin and Leptin signals?
What a life.
