2 of my more important goals this year is to become more mentally healthy and do a complete career shift.
I have been a Paralegal for a Financial Institution for the past 8 years and though it has been a wondrously painstaking journey of highs and lows, last year taught me, metaphorically and literally how Agile the world is and all that is happening in it.
The Pandemic, the souls sleeping peacefully because of it and those who have lost millions of jobs and encountered displacement worldwide- all didn’t stop the showing of the nightly news , Photosynthesis of plants , the food services and automotive industry are and drove respectfully and life still went on.
My curiosity has lead me into pastures that seemed green at first glance , but quickly flipped into an unexpected change of hue.
I realized that this seemingly green pasture fired up what I thought had died in me.
The vexation of my anxiety-filled spirit wanted more out of life.
With the Hotel industry reducing its rate as a result of the halt in imported vacationers, it opened the gates for many home-bodies to explore their unexplored , perfectly manicured gardens
I began to question my hobbies , my persona and my lifelong dreams. What I once thought was fixed, sombre and attainable, now appeared steep, with no guarantee to bring me devout happiness.
I changed my diet and atet fish only as Protein. Fibroids would not get the best of me.
I reduced my Sugar intake.
I went out more often.
I laughed more.
I bout new clothes.
I reached out to friends more
I started to do small bursts of 2 minute Squats, every couple of hours to tone my imaginary muscles.
I asked HR to introduce me to areas of Digital Marketing and the ever seductive area of Scrum.
I was thrown into these requests like a Fish on dry land.
I meddled my way back into the water and learnt how to breathe, for this , this thing I felt , teased my discovery of a Newly untapped Coral Reef.
I joined certain Social Media Platforms and started to connect with the world .
I sold products online whilst studying customer behavior , buying, buy-in and retention.
I studied trends to boost customer retention at work and in my Entrepreneurship quest.
Please join me on that journey everyday as I write to you what I have put into practice to learn these approaches.
Walk good and walk with me…
Today I will take you on a Journey as I explore the world of Scrum and what it entails, my Squat journey and my bid to become more Mentally Tough, by reading this Beut below. ‘The Mental Toughness Handbook’ by Damon Zahariades
